Digital Systems
Computers are the most complex machine ever invented. A computer is an example of a digital system. It is made up of hardware (physical devices) and software (programs).
When supplied with data the computer processes the data and stores or displays results. A computer is really a data processing machine.
A digital system is a collection of hardware (physical devices) and software (programs) components. Digital systems transform data and can be connected to form networks (including the Internet). Digital systems are at the heart of the study of digital technologies.
A computer is just one part of a digital system.
