The horse you see above and to the left, is a full size carousel horse I made for a good friend, Mrs. Jimenez. Her daughter used it in a dance routine to the song called "The Carousel". I used a dense foam for the exterior of the horse to keep it light weight and also make it easy to carve. I carved 2 mirrored halves on a ShopBot CNC router and attached it to a wood core to give it enough strength to hold a small person. It took about 10 hours per side to cut and a total of 40 hours from start to finish.
This magic trunk was built for good friend, the Magician & DJ Pat Walkey from Las Vegas for one of his magic routines. He stands on top of the trunk holding a magic curtain and while the curtain drops the person inside magically appears on top of the trunk and he some how ends up locked inside . It also makes for a good furniture piece in his house. Click on his link
This TV armoire type cabinet was built for my brother-in -law Neil. The interesting thing about this cabinet is that he showed up to visit and while talking, he said he needed a cabinet for his TV and so I said let's build it. Twelve hours later, on the same day, we were done! Bamb! It has one big drawer in the middle for DVDs and the top doors are pocket doors.
This is one of the few pictures I took of a student's project. His name is Chris.
This was a wrap around mantle I built for a home in Rhodes Ranch Las Vegas. It was more difficult than it looks.
Below are before and after pictures of the kitchen cabinets I built for my awesome brother DeCall. The counters weren't installed yet in this photo. It was a fun job.
These two projects were mostly for fun and decoration at SWCTA. Yes the guy (Mr. Ball) in orange is really tall, I am 6'-2" and he is a full head taller.
Below was a project I wanted to do for an awesome family that totally deserved some "Love". These pictures show the before and after of a kitchen remodel project for the Bob and Connie Love home.
Below is a project my advanced students and I tackled for the Habitat for Humanity organization. They build "green" homes for single parents and others with tough life situations. We were involved from the design, to the building of the cabinets all the way through the installation of the cabinets. We built cabinets for 2 houses; 2 kitchens and 4 bathrooms. The dovetail drawers were built from old planks from bleacher seats from the gymnasium. They really liked us recycling the bleachers.
This mantle and stereo cabinet were built for a gentleman who was Air Force Jet Fighter Pilot. He wanted everything to look modern.
Below is one of the few projects I actually built for myself. I decided to remodel my own kitchen with the help of my awesome family and friends. Before and After. Because I used left over and recycled materials the total cost of the cabinets and counters was only about $1,000 in materials. The kitchen remodel, if I were to built it for a customer would have been about a $18,000. We also did the project over the 2 weeks of Christmas break. That's pretty fast for a remodel!
