Dear Spring Creek Families!!

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself to you and your family. My name is Siri Barkdull. This is my 3rd year as school counselor at Spring Creek Elementary and my 8th year in the Elko County School District. I grew up on a dairy farm in a small town in Wisconsin!🐄 I also spent 13 years living and teaching in rural Montana. I love the outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.

I am so lucky to be part of SCE's amazing team of educators and staff! I look forward to meeting you and your student(s) and assisting in helping them meet their own personal goals for the school year and beyond.

Our school will continue to offer counseling services as an additional resource to help your students succeed in their academic goals, as well as social and emotional growth throughout the school year.

Counseling activities can include individual or group counseling (lunch group) whole class presentations (30 minute lessons roughly 2X per month) and observations. Many of these activities will focus on school success: helping students learn ways to build positive social skills, gain confidence in their ability to interact with others and learn ways to deal with problems and conflicts constructively. I will continue to use 2nd step curriculum this year, as well as other elementary school counseling supplementary activities and lessons that have been shared and developed in our district.

Please feel free to contact me if you have ANY questions or concerns. I am thrilled to be working with your students and hope to meet all the families that make Spring Creek Elementary such a great school!

Sincerely,

Mrs. (Siri) Barkdull

P.S. Most kids think I'm named after the i-phone app. I'm just going to roll with that!🤣
