Today’s technology provides students a unique way to interact with one another and learn about themselves as well as society, other disciplines and our community. Students will learn that Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math will allow us to gather a sense of accomplishment and pride through the completion of hands-on projects as well as computer-based learning.
STEAM should open the eyes and minds of students and this class will be the stepping stone to begin that journey.
*All classwork [that does NOT consist of "hands-on building"] will be assigned in Google Classroom and must be TURNED IN by the DUE DATE listed. If it is due that day and NOT finished in class - it will the be assigned as homework and must be turned in by 11:59 pm that evening.
*Design Challenges [aka: PROJECTS] - Students are given a full week [or more] to complete all hands-on projects. I do understand that things happen, but please understand that students cannot submit work more than 5 days late [late assignments will be marked down 10 points for each class day they are late]. Students also must submit work before the end of the marking period as I cannot accept any work after the marking period ends.
ALL assignments in Google Classroom will have a DUE DATE and must be "TURNED IN" by that time or it will be considered "MISSING" and result in a ZERO for that grade. Late assignments will have 10 points deducted for each school day it is missing after the due date. If there are extenuating circumstances, parents/guardians may contact me by phone or by email: epfeffer-burns@ecs.k12.ny.us

What is Google Classroom?
Google Classroom's purpose is to facilitate paperless communication between teachers and students and streamline educational workflow. Google Classroom allows teachers to create classes, post assignments, organize folders, and view work in real-time.
Not only can we assign work, and provide feedback to your students through Google Classroom, but we can also keep parents in the loop. Just go to the Students menu on Google Classroom, and click the “Invite Guardians” link next to any student's name to add yourself as the parent/guardian.
