Justin Paul Coniker

Meet Justin Paul Conniker. Justin is in 11th grade, and a life-long Ellenville resident. Justin is the oldest of two. Presently, some of his favorite classes SUPA - US History. He shares that the class has helped him become a better writer, in preparation for college demands and other writing expectations down the road. Math has always been his favorite subject. He currently is in pre-calculus with Mr. Schoonmaker (SUNY Ulster). In addition to his love for these classes Justin is also involved in: Varsity Cross Country, Wrestling and Outdoor track and field. He is also a member of the Mountaindale Fire Department, and he volunteers his time to that. As a Freshman he applied to the United States Naval Academy Summer STEM Program. As a sophomore he was accepted however the pandemic has put a halt on all activities. As a 10th grader he participated via online. Long term goal of his is to attend the Naval Academy after high school. He would like to make that a career, and further his education. Hobbies: He likes to run, rail trails, running anywhere. Hanging out with friends if he has the time, but studying takes the bulk of his time, and he has begun the nomination process for the Naval Academy. He will need recommendations from Congressman Delgado when the time allows for it. This summer Justin will be attending the United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar. June 4-June 9. This is only for rising seniors (currently Juniors). This program will allow the students to see the student life of those currently enrolled in the Naval Academy.

Favorite foods: Include the classic pizza, but he can be a picky eater at times. He also likes most kinds of fruits, he is a big fruit eater. Words of wisdom: Work hard and stay out of trouble. Once you hit 9th grade, depending on your aspirations, 9th - 11 grade matters and your senior year is the icing on the cake.

Elionna S. Bell

Meet Elionna S. Bell. Elionna is in 8th grade. Some of her favorite classes are English, Spanish and Health (Ms. Mactas, Mr. Espinosa and Mr. Mead). Elionna would like to give a shout out to Mr. Espinosa because “he is inspiring and funny”. When it comes to hobbies, she likes to “chill with my friends and play tennis at times”. Favorite foods: Elionna loves Puerto Rican cuisine such as “pork filled pasteles and tostones - fried plantains”. Wisdom to incoming 7th grade students: “keep your head up and avoid the drama. That really messes you up because you will be so involved in that and you won’t focus”. Recommended music artists are “Her (R&B) and Romeo Santos (Bachata King)”. Upon graduating from the Sr. High Elionna plans on attending a trade school and is also interested in the Real Estate Business. Elionna S. Bell is one of our Gems Nestled in the Valley!



Max Aaron Dickman

Meet Max Aaron Dickman. Max is in 11th grade. He presently is involved in the school musical, Little Shop of Horrors; he will have the role of Mr. Mushnik - (the shop owner). Additionally, he is also a member of chamber singers and student council. When it comes to people who have been a positive influence in his life Max referred to his best friends Shyama and Mya. “They are always there for me and help me with anything that I need”. A special recognition to his mother “she is always so supportive”. Max really enjoys his English and Social Studies classes (Ms. Roosa and Mr. Alhouse - SUPA) He shares that “Mr. Althouse has really helped me so much with my writing”. Some of Max’s hobbies include spending time outside, hiking, and swimming. Favorite foods include: sushi and penne alla vodka pizza. Wisdom for students entering the Senior HS: “stay focused during class and make time at home for studying and doing homework. Find a hobby that will keep you motivated”.
