Students are expected to attend every day, try, ask for help, complete all assignments, and contribute to a learning environment where each student feels welcomed, belongs, and works hard every day to learn and grow. Students are encouraged to check their proficiency levels and assignments in Google Classroom regularly to monitor their own progress.

Independent practice is an important part of learning. Assignments are due by the start of class the following day.

Standards-based grading:

Performance assessments and tests will measure students’ levels of proficiency on the NY State math standards. Students may retake assessments to demonstrate improved proficiency levels. The most recent level will be recorded in Google Classroom. Numerical grades are updated periodically on Parent Portal.

Mastery of standard (Level 4) = 100

Proficiency in standard (Level 3) = 85

Approaching proficiency (level 2) = 70

Not yet approaching proficiency (Level 1) = 60

Insufficient evidence (Level 0) = minimum grade 50
