Homework will be given if classwork is not completed in the expected time frame, and will generally not exceed 20 minutes. When a student is not formally assigned homework, they will be expected to read their independent reading books, or to be working on an ongoing project.
It is of the utmost importance that students attend class every day .If they are absent it is important for the student to refer to the daily notice on Google Classroom. All materials will be posted. It is the student's responsibility to make up missed work and/or to schedule extra help with Mrs. Spoor as needed. If you are having difficulty or cannot attend on a given day, please reach out via email or by phone.
Grading is on a total point system. The greater the points, the more significant the weight of the assignment.
Rubrics, examples ,and clear directions will be provided for each assignment.
Much of the work we do builds the skills necessary for success on assignments which will be for a grade. ALL of the work we do should be completed thoughtfully and thoroughly in order to improve individual skills.
Turning in work and Late Work Policy:
Students may turn in completed work within the Quarter week each assignment is assigned. It is strongly recommended that students adhere to given due dates and request help as needed.
please note that should a student turn in missing or late assignments, they will be graded after current assignments are attended to.
Extra Credit: Extra credit opportunities will be offered regularly in class with set due dates without exceptions. Students can earn extra credit points by using the Pocket Points App during our regularly scheduled class time. Additional extra credit can be offered to students who complete the majority of their assignments. It is not offered to students at the end of the quarter who have failed to complete other required work.
What is the SchoolTool Parent Portal?
Our Academic Management System, SchoolTool, offers the SchoolTool Parent Portal. Parent Portal gives parents access to monitor their children's progress in school and provides a way for parents to get secure online information about their children.
