ECPS Instructional Framework

What is the ECPS Instructional Framework?

The ECPS Instructional Framework helps provide a common language shared by the district to ensure high quality learning experiences for ALL students. It will serve as a foundation for identifying high-impact daily instructional practices to best inform teaching and learning.

TEACHERS

  • Design equitable student experiences marked with cognitive rigor.*

  • Set clear goals for learning.

  • Develop and use learner profiles in the design process.

  • Leverage community resources and Purposeful Partnerships to support and enhance learning.

STUDENTS

  • Understand learning objectives and expectations for learning.

  • Set and achieve goals for learning.

  • Participate in developing their own collaborative learner profile.


STAKEHOLDERS

  • Understand learning objectives and expectations for learning.

  • Set and achieve goals for learning.

  • Participate in developing their own collaborative learner profile.


TEACHERS

  • Engage students in equitable learning every day, inclusive of the ECPS Everyday Essentials:

    • Reading

    • Writing

    • Critical Questioning

    • Critical Thinking

    • Speaking


STUDENTS

  • Engage with the ECPS Everyday Essentials on a daily basis.

  • Advocate for and utilize instructional accommodations.


STAKEHOLDERS

  • Collaborate with schools to create purposeful partnerships to support student needs and goals.

  • Assist in providing equitable learning experiences and opportunities to enhance student learning.



TEACHERS

  • Analyze student progress towards goals through the use of multiple diagnostic, interim, and formative data sets.

  • Examine accommodations and interventions for each student to determine effectiveness.


STUDENTS

  • Analyze and use datasets to set goals for instructional growth and improvement.

STAKEHOLDERS

  • Actively participate in opportunities to engage in school decision-making.

  • Stay abreast of current school data and provide meaningful feedback to support improvement.


TEACHERS

  • Modify instruction in response to data.

  • Align learning experiences to the MTSS Framework for Tiered Instruction.

  • Engage in collaboration around data and instructional best practices in PLCs.



STUDENTS

  • Actively engage in learning experiences that allow students to participate in customized extensions, redirections, and interventions.

STAKEHOLDERS

  • Support student needs by volunteering and providing resources to support instructional/emotional needs and extensions of learning.

*Cognitive rigor is marked and measured by the depth and extent students are challenged and engaged to demonstrate and communicate their knowledge and thinking. Cognitive rigor also marks and measures the depth and complexity of student learning experiences.
