Massachusetts Solidarity Economy Network

The Massachusetts Solidarity Economy Project is a budding network of solidarity economy organizers from across the state which formed out of the Kali Akuno visit and Solidarity Economy Strategy Meeting in April 2018.

An Organizing Committee and sectoral working groups were formed to explore statewide strategies for advancing the solidarity economy in Massachusetts, the result of which is this weekend-long gathering, one year later. Organizing Committee members and advisors include Emily Kawano (Wellspring Cooperative, US SEN), Elvis Mendez (Neighbor to Neighbor), Sarah Jimenez (Community Labor United), Hendrix Berry (Boston Ujima Project), Gabriella della Croce (Pioneer Valley Worker’s Center), Penn Loh (Tufts Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning Masters, Solidarity Economy Initiative), and Boone Shear (UMass Anthropology Dept., Worcester Roots).
