Thesis Procedure

Qualifications for conducting thesis 

• • • GPA > 3.00

    • Pass all course works

    • Pass English examination

    • Ph.D students must pass comprehensive and qualification examination

• Thesis/Dissertation schedule for academic year 2025

  • • This schedule is a guideline for student who wants to graduate in the academic year 2025 which student should follow this schedule strictly.

    • Students can submit the Proposal/Workshop/Final Defense request form whenever you want to take the exam before the guideline schedule in case your thesis advisor sees and approves that the quality of your thesis is ready to take the exam.

    • Students have to know the details of thesis procedure thoroughly and plan your own schedule with your thesis advisor.

    • Students should plan ahead and allow for time to wait for responses from thesis advisor in all cases when contacting advisors. In case that the advisor does not respond within 3 days, students can send reminders with a gap of approximately 2-3 days between each reminder. If there is still no response, students should gather evidence and details and report the issue to the graduate study program for further assistance in contacting the advisor.

• Completing a thesis is an accumulation of credits.

  • • For the 1st semester of thesis registration, students have to enroll thesis credits according to the curriculum  (Master degree 6 credits, Ph.D 12 credits)

    • The credits students have to enroll in the next semester depends on the progress report from your thesis advisor, for example

      • • MA (Inter) 2nd-year student, 1st semester enroll EE800 for 6 credits and get progress report 6 credits. Next semester students have to enroll for 6 credits.

        • Ph.D 3rd-year student, 1st semester enroll EE901 for 12 credits and get progress report only 6 credits. Next semester students have to enroll for 15 credits. **The maximum credit enrollment is 15 credits.

• Looking for thesis advisor

  • • Students can contact directly to the teacher you want to be your thesis advisor. This is the quality way for pairing thesis advisor as students directly contact to the professors then communicate and exchange, resulting in deep and effective communication and understanding of the topics and issues in the thesis.

    • On July of every year, the program will schedule the thesis advisor pairing process which the results would be informed within September of every year.

    • Students who submit their topic to the advisor pairing process have to contact the allocated thesis advisor and continuously keep update thesis progress with your thesis advisor every month since you have thesis advisor.

    • Students must submit thesis topic and advisor request form within November.

• Submitting thesis topic and thesis advisor request

  • • You can submit thesis advisor request as soon as you have thesis advisor and thesis topic in order to appoint the thesis advisor for following your thesis progress.

    • Students can submit the information collection for thesis request after the program has finished the appointment for thesis advisor.

• Thesis Progress Report

  • • Submit the progress report every semester you enroll for thesis

    • Criteria for evaluating thesis progress

• • • If you have no progress, you will get NP

    • Getting NP 2 times means you can't enroll thesis in the next semester

• Plagiarism Checking Before submitting Final Defense Exam request and after finish thesis format checking)

  • • send the thesis file to the email tulib.plagiarism@gmail.com for checking and submit with the exam request

• Enrollment for thesis in case getting NP 2 times / enroll less-more than the criteria

  • • Submit General Request form with thesis advisor's signature to the graduate study program at 5th floor 

    • The program will coordinate with the office of the registrar for the enrollment

    • Students wait for the announcement for payment method and period (pay through TU GREAT App)

• Submitting request and other related thesis documents

  • • Submit exam request not less than 14 days before the specified exam date

    • Submit hard Copy (paper) documents to the Graduate study program at 5th floor 

    • You can use Grab, Lineman, or Thai Post for submitting documents (Receiving document box is in front of the elevator, 1st floor) 

    • You can print the documents online via VDI. Before printing, please contact the staff (There are limitations to operations.)
