How It Started
My obsession with wanting to save nature and wildlife began when I was five years old, watching Steve Irwin in 'The Crocodile Hunter.' I was captivated. From then on, all I wanted in life was to get outside, travel the world and immerse myself into anything and everything nature had to offer me. With the more time I spent outside, the more pollution I became exposed to. I started to find myself questioning what beach I could take my niece to, where I wouldn't be worrying if she ended up with glass in her foot. I wanted change.
So, instead of getting salty about litter, I decided to get involved, and Eco Mermaid Conservation was created.
In 2021, I hosted my first ever cleanup. It was in my neighborhood in Colorado, we had eight volunteers and removed a little over 30 pounds of trash.
At the start of 2022, I set Eco Mermaid Conservation out on the goal of removing 500 pounds of trash from the environment.
