Through this project students will successively assume the roles of a multimedia project manager and an internet developer to design and create a gamebook type game based on a story invented or chosen in their cultural repertoire. To do this, students will imagine a main scenario and secondary scenarios while learning the main principles of technical development of a website.

Sustainable Coin Maze - The designers are required to create a two-layered maze through which a Franc or Euro can navigate. However, the use of card (rather than Acrylic) means that the user is unable to see the location of the coin. The inclusion of a maze map affords the user the ability to guide the coin through the maze.
Shadow-cast light - This project introduces electronics and soldering, in the form of a light, switch and USB socket. The designers use finger-joint boxes and creative laser-cut patterns to create attractive lighting and shadow on surrounding surfaces.
Working in a team of four, students are set the challenge to design and make a game based on a book from the PYP library. The aim is to encourage the PYP students to use the library by providing attractive and fun games, which could potentially encourage children to read the book. Students have to specialise in 2D CAD, 3D CAD, graphics or workshop and collaborate with the team to produce 4 games.

The question is asked - What hazardous situations would it be preferable to send a robot into rather than a human being? Disposing of a bomb is one such situation! Students are tasked with developing a robot that can find its way around a course, pick up a barrel using a grabber and take this to a location where the dangerous package can be disposed of safely. Depending on their ability, students can have free-reign over their build and how complex they want their program to be, and some will be able to use a textual coding language such as Python.
Throughout the project students are given presentations which demonstrate the links to industry and ask them to consider ethical aspects, for instance, will robots displace humans? Are there any negative consequences to robots helping humanity? Are all robots good? Is there a need for the Laws of Robotics?
