• Health Services-You will discuss required immunizations and health forms that are needed to complete check-in.

• Campus Safety-For on-campus residential students, you will receive your room key.

• Virtual Orientation Programs-You will be required to complete these if you have not done so prior to arrival on campus.

Students and Families will be welcomed by the Vice-President of Academic Affairs Cory Krediet, Vice-President of Student Success Margie Sanfilippo, Associate Dean of General Education Heather Vincent, and student leaders in Triton Room, located adjacent to the Dining Center, to receive important information and participate in pledging the Eckerd College Honor Code. 

Introduction to Student Services and Programs (students only) 

During Winter Term, the following orientation programs will be offered to familiarize you with the various academic and support services that are available on campus. Attendance for each event is required.

College is an amazing and often life-changing experience; however, we recognize that this period of transition is not without its academic and personal stressors. Join your Wellness Services staff to learn about the support available for all students through the offices of Student Outreach and Support (SOS), Counseling Services, Health Services, and Advocacy and Prevention. Each of us has a role to play in creating a safe, respectful, and nonviolent community. During this interactive program, you will learn about how you can best care for yourself, someone in need, and what to do if you or a friend needs help on campus and how to intervene to help you successfully navigate Winter Term and beyond! Join the Office of Campus Safety to learn about the various safety resources available, including emergency protocols, crime prevention tips, parking and transportation policies, and how to stay informed about campus updates and emergency notifications. By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of how the Office of Campus Safety works to create a positive and welcoming environment for all students. Connecting Across Differences (MANDATORY) 

Triton Room - ATTENDANCE REQUIRED 

Academic freedom and free expression are core principles of higher education. As an Eckerd Scholar, you will be encouraged to engage in civic discourse, practice civility, civic engagement, empathy and to expand in the ability to contextualize lived experiences of others that may differ from that of your own. This discussion will explore what is expected of you and how you will contribute to our Eckerd community and our global society.
