The San Francisco Bay is one of the largest estuaries in the United States, and the largest along the west coast. As a result, a wide variety of species depend upon it for food, shelter, and other important resources. However, the Bay is also home to a large number of invasive species, coming from different sources such as hull fouling and ballast water contamination. This study aims to survey the southern San Francisco Bay and determine the proportion of native to non-native species via net trawl surveys. Through surveys conducted from June 2022 to August 2022 through the Marine Science Institute, we found that nearly half of the species collected were non-native.
