Chromebook Keyboard Settings Causing Password Issues
If the student's password isn't working properly, ( Ex. Showing an 'F' when they clicked the 'J' key) check the keyboard settings:
If you are not sure if the keyboard is having issues when a student is typing in the password, have them enter their password in the login box to confirm the characters typed.
How do I change the keyboard on my Chromebook?
If not logged into the Chromebook:
At the bottom right, select the time. Or press Alt + Shift + s.
Click Keyboard and select English (US)
If logged into the Chromebook:
At the bottom right, select the time. Or press Alt + Shift + s.
Select Settings.
In the "Device" section, select Keyboard.
Use the menus and select English (US)
If you find the student keyboard is set to the proper keyboard, please have the Tech Inventory lead submit a Get Help Ticket.
