What is UTeach Blended Learning?
ECISD Blended Learning has partnered with the University of Texas's UTeach Professional Learning to offer ECISD staff the opportunity to engage in online, asynchronous coursework with a focus on blended learning. New cohorts start monthly and you have a three month period to complete your coursework.
Foundations of Blended Learning (FBL) - Develop a foundational understanding of blended learning, how it can support student learning, and what teacher tools are available. (30-hour online course)
Advanced Blended Learning (ABL) - Engage in a deeper consideration of blended learning practices, purposefully use new tools, and gain more in-depth knowledge of blended learning. (30-hour online course)

Personalized Blended Learning (PBL) This course builds on concepts explored in Foundations and Advanced Blended Learning with a focus on personalized learning strategies. Educators will engage in personalized learning models, create their own examples, and capture implementation of these models in action. (20-hour online course)

Designing Project-based Instruction and Blended Learning (D-PBI & BL) - This course offers educators a detailed exploration into the benefits and methodology of using Project-Based Instruction to provide authentic and challenging experiences for their students, emphasizing blended learning strategies. (30-hour online course)

Implementing Project-Based Instruction & Blended Learning (I-PBI) - This course offers an extension to the Project-Based Instruction course and provides participants with step-by-step guidance on how to bring their blended PBI unit to life as they transition from plan to action. (20-hour online course)

Blended Learning Coaching & Collaboration (BLCC) - This course is designed to support leaders, instructional coaches and teacher leaders who are advocating for blended learning at their campuses. This course focuses on implementation and support of best blended learning practices, integration of effective technology to achieve student-centered outcomes and observation and feedback of blended learning classrooms.

Artificial Intelligence in Blended Learning Classrooms (AI) - Participants discover and experiment with various AI tools that can enhance blended learning environments and improve their blended learning practices. This course focuses on how AI can customize learning for each student and demonstrate how AI can handle routine tasks. (20-hour online course)

Mastering the New Science TEKS (MNST) - Designed for Texas educators by Texas educators, Mastering the New Science TEKS is a self-paced course that equips teachers in grades K-2 or 3–8 to effectively teach the new Texas science standards. With a focus on inquiry-based teaching and personalized learning strategies, this course supports teachers as they gain a solid understanding of the new standards and expectations for mastery on the STAAR test. No prerequisite course (15-hour online course)
Teaching Secondar Math in the Blended Learning Classroom (TSM) - This course offers secondary math educators the opportunity to learn more about blended learning tools and strategies that promote student-centered learning and exploration in their math classrooms. Participants will experiment with various blended frameworks and adaptive online learning platforms to incorporate mastery-based self-pacing and, ultimately, more personalized learning to support all secondary math (grades 6–12) teachers with blended learning strategies that are relevant, flexible, and high-impact. Introduction to Data-Driven Instruction (DDI) - This course is designed to transform educational practices by integrating comprehensive data analysis into everyday teaching, empowering educators to make informed decisions, tailor instruction to individual student needs, and drive academic success. Participants learn how to harness the power of student assessment data to create effective personalized learning experiences. No prerequisite course (20-hour online course)
Foundations of Blended Learning CTE Edition: (CTE) - This course is designed for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers looking to integrate blended learning strategies into their unique instructional environments. Modeled on our core course, Foundations of Blended Learning, this edition includes CTE-specific examples, tools, and exemplars created by past UTeach PD participants and Certified Blended Learning Educators. Participants will explore how to personalize learning using free, accessible digital platforms while balancing hands-on instruction with student-centered design. No prerequisite course (30-hour online course)
** Per ECISD Advanced Academic Services: As of August 2022, the UTeach Blended Learning courses do not meet the ECISD gifted/talented professional learning standards. The district will no longer award GT credit for the UTeach Blended Learning courses. **
