Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be passing all of my classes? Yes, you must be passing all of your classes (UIL rules apply) by the time you get your cleared in each department. 

Can I bring a guest who doesn't go to East Central? Yes, but an Off-Campus Guest Form must be completed before purchasing their ticket.

Can underclassmen (Freshmen and Sophomores) attend? Yes, but they can only attend as a date of an upperclassman (Junior or Senior). Upperclassmen have to buy their ticket before they purchase the ticket for their underclassmen date. Underclassmen will still have to complete a Prom Clearance Form. 

What can I do if parking space is limited? We recommend carpooling with a friend, renting a limo, or getting dropped off. 

Will there be food? Yes, there will be snacks and sweets. We recommend that you eat dinner before you arrive at prom. 

Is it an Open Event? No, all attendees must have previously purchased their e-ticket, thus having their names on the guest list. Attendees can NOT come and go, once you leave the event you will not be let back in. 

Will there be a Professional Photographer? Yes. There will be a photo booth and a professional photographer.  You can plan for your professional photos by filling out and providing the following form to the photographer the night of prom.

Can prom guests book a room at the hotel where prom is being held? No, see the following information from Embassy Suites: 

Embassy Suites Brooks Hotel policy for overnight guests under the age of 21 - 

Hotel policy maintains guests under the age of 21 are not permitted to make guestroom reservations of their own. 

Should an adult parent make a guestroom reservation for an under aged 21 guest, the adult parent is required to be physically present in the reserved guestroom at all times from Check In to Check Out.  The adult parent will acknowledge at Check In, by their signature, that he or she has the duty of control and reasonable discipline for the under aged 21 guest(s) and assumes full responsibility and full liability for any property damage caused by negligent conduct or willful and malicious conduct. 

Hotel Management reserves the right to conduct in-person room checks at random. Should the adult parent on the reservation not be physically present in the room all persons in the guestroom will be asked to leave the hotel immediately. Local police will be contacted to enforce Hotel policy if necessary.
