The Hagan Scholarship is a need based merit scholarship for goal driven students in the high school graduating class. Eligible students must have a minimum 3.5 unweighted GPA and must be enrolling in a 4 year University in the fall. There are other eligibility criteria as well. Students interested in applying should make sure they are reading the criteria that can be found on the online application. An informational flyer is available in the guidance office with more information. The online application opens in the fall of each year and the due date is in December. The 2026 due date is December 1.

The University of Illinois grants four year tuition waivers to children of veterans at the University of Illinois Campuses (Urbana-Champaign, Springfield, and Chicago. The application lists the other eligibility criteria. Please note: this tuition waiver cannot be used by grandchildren of veterans. Paper applications are available in the guidance office and must be returned directly to the University by the due date, which is usually early January. The 2026 application is due January 5.
This scholarship contest is locally sponsored by Citizens National Bank of Albion. This scholarship requires a short essay and asks for extracurricular and community service activities. Essays have a chance to win at the local, district, and state levels, with monetary awards increasing at each level. Students who have immediate family members who are bank employees are not eligible to apply. This highly competitive scholarship is for any student attending one of the four IECC schools in the fall. New scholarship for 2026. This scholarship is in memory of Mary Ruth Johnson, resident of Albion and teacher at Little Prairie Preschool for 37 years. This scholarship honors the kindness, wisdom, and faith that she shared with those who knew her. Wabash Valley College is offering two scholarship tracks: music and theatre. Each scholarship is worth ½ time but can be combined to create a 100% scholarship for up to 18 credit hours each semester. Students are not required to be a music or theatre major, but are required to participate in WVC music and theatre productions (performance or production). An informational flyer is available in the guidance office each fall and students should contact WVC Music and Theatre Specialist and Director Dennis Stroughmatt, stroughmattd@iecc.edu for more information. Students offered this award must sign a letter of intent to attend WVC by April each year.
These scholarships are up to $5000 and can be used for tuition, books, and fees at any college or university, including online learning. Students must meet income guidelines. Applications are available in the ECHS guidance office and must be submitted to the local WADI office by May 7.
