Students will study the following skills categories in this course: reading literature, reading informational texts, writing, speaking and listening, and language usage. Students will read selections primarily from World Literature, and they will write for a variety of purposes including writing to inform, to explain, to analyze, to interpret, to argue, to synthesize, and to evaluate.
Honors English 9
This course fulfills one English credit required for graduation. Additionally, the 'Honors' designation signifies that this course prepares students for AP English study in the future. Honors courses are college-preparatory courses, and the pace of these courses is advanced.
