Savanna Striplin

I graduated summa cum laude from Jacksonville State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Education and special honors in English. In December 2017, I graduated from The University of Alabama with a Master of Library and Information Studies. I was also deeply honored to be selected as Sardis Middle School's Teacher of the Year during the 2017-2018 school year. I am in my seventh year of teaching; this is my sixth year at SMS. I am beyond blessed to be a member of the best faculty/staff!

I am from the outskirts of Walnut Grove where I have a daredevil dog named Rosco and a curious cat named Ginger.

I adore my family, but I do not get to see some of them as often as I would like. My brother is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force; he is stationed in California. My nephew and niece (Benjamin and Aubrey) are the coolest kids ever!

As with most librarians, I adore reading. It all began with Harry Potter in 3rd grade. The series is my favorite to date and inspired me to soak up as much literature as possible. I know some students do not enjoy reading. My response? You have not had your Harry Potter moment!

I am a firm believer in responsibility. Students can only excel when they take responsibility and are actively engaged in education. My personal goal is to help students create and maintain the urge to learn and improve.
