All car riders must be picked up by 2:45 each day.
We have had a great start to the school year. Thanks to the hard work of the staff and the engagement of the students, we've had a positive kickoff to the year.
Let's keep the momentum going as we move into next week. We have transitioned to full instructional mode!
There are just a few things that we need to clean-up this week:
Transition times need to get down to 6 minutes. We will begin enforcing tardies during the week. This includes the assigned consequences for multiple tardies.
Morning carpool riders and drivers need to be at school in enough time to be in class by 7:15. A student not in class by 7:15 will be marked late to school, which counts against a students tardy and attendance record.
All jackets and outerwear must be solid school colors (no large logos or designs).
Shirts and skirts cannot be any shorter than 5" above the knee. Students in violation will be required to call home and have a change of clothes brought to school before going to class.
Afternoon carpool riders MUST be picked up by 2:45. Any student who is habitually picked up after 2:45 will be required to ride the bus home. Staff supervision of students not in after school programs ends at 2:40.
We will be on Morning Activity Schedule Wednesday and Thursday to hold class meetings with all students
Juniors/Seniors - August 12
Freshmen/Sophomores - August 13
Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25 from 5:30pm - 7:30 pm.
This will be a meet-and-greet style event for parents to meet our team. We will hold Meet the Panthers at 5:30 in the gym and open the school for classroom visits from 6:00 - 7:30.
Thursday, August 20, 6:00
Football will host Lafayette Renaissance School next Thursday. This is the first time our student athletes will be in action this season.
Students who did not attend orientation will receive ID's and Chromebooks Monday and Tuesday.
Handbooks and start-of-school paperwork will be handed out to all students through the 6th Period class on Tuesday. There will be forms for parents to sign and return to the 6th Period teacher.
Student ID's - by Wednesday, all students must be wearing this year's student ID at all times. Students who do not have their permanent ID on any day of the week must purchase a temporary ID for that day for $1 (no cards). Students who do not purchase a temporary ID will be issued lunch detention for that day and issued a temporary ID. IDs must be worn on the upper body, face forward, and visible on the outside of any jackets or sweatshirts.
Late Check-in
An adult must accompany a student who arrives after the carpool entrance closes and sign them in to the front office. Late students who arrive after the carpool entrance closes will not be admitted to school without a parent check-in.
Early Check-out
Please remember that students cannot be checked out after 1:30.
Parents/guardians must be the ones to check students out of school, even if the student is 18 years old. Students cannot leave campus or check themselves out.
(This does not apply to seniors who get out of school early. Seniors with half schedules are allowed to leave once their last class of the day has finished.)
A tardy is recorded any time a student is not in class by its official start time (at the start of school and during regular class changes). Late arrivals to school by student drivers or carpool do count into a student's tardy record. Student tardies accumulate throughout the full semester and consequences begin after the 4th tardy.
