All About Me
Welcome to 7th grade! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child and working together to help your child succeed! As parents and guardians, I understand that you are the most important teachers in your child's life and it is with that understanding that I appreciate the role that you and I each play in the partnership to your child achieving the goals set forth for him or her. I would like to take this opportunity to give you a brief overview of myself. I earned my BS in Elementary Grades (1-8) from Louisiana State University in 2005. I have numerous years of teaching experience in East Baton Rouge Parish, sixteen of which have been at McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School. I have taught third, sixth, and seventh grade. During 2012-13, 2014-15, 2015-16 school years, I was honored with the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award. The year of 2019-2020, I was really ecstatic and proud to be Teacher of the Year for my school. In addition, I was elected seventh grade Team Leader for 3 years in a row. I feel so blessed to have been recognized with these awards and leadership positions as well as work with the best of the best at McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School.
