Course Descriptions

9th Grade - Fall Semester

Pathway students enrolled in two courses, Cultural Geography and Elementary French I. The course description for these courses in the BRCC Course Catalog 2021-2022 are as follows:

  • Cultural Geography (GEO 2113): "Introduces concepts, themes, and techniques of cultural geography; discusses religion, politics, language, population, agriculture, urbanization, environmental, and social problems" (331).

  • Elementary French I (FREN 1013): "Introduces the French language and culture and explores the basic grammatical structure of the French language. This course develops writing, reading, listening and speaking skills, as well as appreciation for the geography, food, music, values, and customs of the Francophone world" (330).

9th Grade - Spring Semester

Pathway students enrolled in two courses, Western Civilization to 1500 and Elementary French II, for the spring semester. The course description for these courses in the BRCC Course Catalog 2021-2022 are as follows:

  • Western Civilization to 1500 (HIST 1113): "Surveys major civilizations of the world before 1500 and emphasizes interactions among them and their influences on each other" (332).

  • Elementary French II (FREN 1023): "Extends elementary knowledge of the basic grammatical structure of the French language and the culture. This course continues to develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and appreciation for the geography, food, music, values, and customs of the Francophone world" (330).
