Greetings Panther Family,
I’m Quaneal Nixon, and I’m currently in my sixth year of teaching at Glen Oaks Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I’m passionate about creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment where students can excel both academically and personally.
In addition to teaching, I’m pursuing a graduate degree in Music Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This academic journey allows me to deepen my knowledge and integrate innovative musical techniques into my classroom.
My musical background is extensive and varied. I’ve had the honor of working with several prestigious groups, including the Southern University Symphonic Band, the Louisiana Leadership Institute, the Regulators All-Star Band, and the Music City Mass Band in Nashville, TN, among others. I was also a member of the Southern University "Human Jukebox" Band, where I served as a section leader for four years. These experiences have profoundly shaped my teaching approach and enriched my connection to the world of music.
I’m dedicated to inspiring my students and making a meaningful impact in the field of music education while actively contributing to my local community.
