Mrs. Dabney's Science Classroom

Welcome to my web page! I am a science teacher at Glen Oaks Magnet High School. I have held a respect for science since grade school. I enjoy investigating the effects of consistent observations. It helps me to better understand true processes!

After graduating high school I decided to attend Southern University and A&M College in which I received my Bachelors in General Biology. I then found immediate interest in being a part of the emergency response team and completed paramedic training. Through paramedic training I obtain my license as a EMT-Basic and Phlebotomist. While in training I noticed I was the "go to" person for study groups. I naturally taught my classmates content with ease.

After years of working in the medical field, I still did not feel complete. I searched to find a career in teaching because I notice I was fighting against what came natural to me.

Since teaching is something I see my doing for a lifetime, I decided to seek further education. I received my Masters in Arts of Teaching in Secondary Education at University of Phoenix so that I can learn more about my craft. I plan to utilize all of what I learned to create a great learning experience for my students!
