About EBR Virtual Academy

East Baton Rouge Virtual Academy (EBRVA) is a free, online EBR School System public school for students in grades PreK through 12. Enrollment is open to all families within the East Baton Rouge School district. EBR Virtual Academy has been in existence since 2016, and originally served students in grades 9 through 12 only. In partnership with Northdale Academy, students received blended learning support and had the option to participate in face-to-face school activities. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the EBR School System established the Virtual Support Program to provide online instructional support for students in grades Kindergarten through five. Students remained enrolled in their schools of record, but received daily live instruction from the Virtual Support Program teachers. The Virtual Support Program also partnered with Proximity Learning to collaborate around improving existing school partnership operations and oversight. In May 2021, the EBR School System Board approved the expansion of the 9-12 EBR Virtual Academy to include grades PreK through 8. In fall of 2021, EBR Virtual Academy launched as a fully functioning online school for families who desire to continue learning in a virtual environment. Today, EBR Virtual Academy is  partnered with ASU Prep Digital, a leader in online learning.

CORE VALUES

Students First

High Quality Instruction

Equity and Culturally Responsive Teaching

Community and Family Partnerships

EBR Virtual Academy exists to provide high quality and flexible academic options for families who choose virtual learning.

Greetings students and families!

Our school program includes live instruction, self-paced learning options, and specialized services for students with diverse learning needs. Our classes are taught by EBR teachers who utilize tier 1 curriculum materials and resources.

We invite you to join us in this process by partnering with us to create a learning environment where students thrive and families are engaged at the highest level possible. Our aim is for every student to have the opportunity to reach academic success through high quality first teaching and targeted supports. Last year we aimed to "Get Stronger, Get Better, and FINISH First"! For the 2024-2025 school year, we are on a journey to reach "Destination Academic Success"

Our benchmark assessments will enable us to gauge learning along the way and help us identify where additional interventions and supports are needed. We are striving to show at least 3-5% growth across the three interim ANet assessments in ELA and math! We will continue to implement school-wide strategies to address academics, attendance, and SEL through the implementation of a multi-tiered systems of support plan.

By working together, we can make it happen for our students!
