What a wonderful end to half term with many parents in school to share your children’s learning. It was wonderful to see you all.
We hope the children have a wonderful, restful half term.
There is no homework set for half term.
Coming up next week:
English: the children will continue to write a persuasive letter about Electronic waste
Maths: Year 5 - the children will be looking at calculating area.
Year 6 - will be looking at fractions: dividing fractions by a whole number and multiplying fractions by fractions.
Curriculum: Our new topic is ‘How is the world connected?’. This week we will focus on What are natural resources and where do they come from?
Science: Y5- To know that some materials will dissolve in liquid to form a solution.
Y6-To know what an irreversible and reversible change is
To understand that states of matter change in a reversible change.
PSHE: Year 5 will look at peer pressure
Year 6 will continue to focus on social media, with a focus on how online messaging can make people feel.

Violin performance on Tuesday 27th February
On Tuesday 27th February, Team Calder invite parents, carers and grandparents to join us in the hall for our very first violin concert.
The performance will begin at 9:30am and doors will open at 9:25am and will last no longer than 30 minutes.
We look forward to seeing you there!
