 A MESSAGE FROM MRS WINTER

Dear Families,

This week our Reception children took part in a Gruffalo picnic. They had a wonderful time exploring the story and enjoying sharing this with their grown ups.  Throughout the rest of school we have seen some wonderful learning taking place, Y5 and Y6 have had a particularly good day creating with modroc!

The whole school have enjoyed Rocksteady in school today! I'm sure the children will tell you all about it! School was alive with music and all of the children from Reception to Y6 took part in various workshops. We are looking forward to having regular visits from Rocksteady next term. Miss Fawcett leads music in our school and is ensuring the children get lots of opportunity to experience a range of music and styles.

Please can we continue to encourage children to be in school everyday and on time, we know it can be challenging for some children and we also understand that children are also genuinely ill and so, therefore, some absences cannot be helped. Please ask if there is anything we can do to support your child's attendance.

This week we are sharing our Christmas dates with you because we know how important it is to have this information well in advance. Please see below.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes

Mrs. Winter

COOK SCHOOL

What's Cooking?

Team Aire have been visiting Cook School this week.  The children have been sharing what they know about The Great Fire of London and made Great Fire of London Cakes (just like Thomas Farriner would have made).

They have used digital scales and also cracked some eggs!

Well done to all of the children - their bakes were amazing!

BRAKE CHARITY

One of our childrens sibling was sadly involved in a fatal road collision in 2021.

As a family they received amazing support from a charity called ' BRAKE' who support bereaved families and people who have received life changing injuries due to a traffic collision.

In aid of the work that this amazing charity does, one of our pupils is fundraising and will be selling friendship bracelets and parachuting alien toys for 50p in the school playground, before and after school on Thursday 26th October.  All profits will go to 'BRAKE'.

If you or anyone you know could benefit from the help of this charity, please follow the below link to find all their information.

ROCKSTEADY

ROCK AND POP BAND LESSONS WITH ROCKSTEADY!

Exciting news! We will be welcoming Rocksteady Music School into Staynor Hall Primary.

It’s an incredible opportunity for your children to learn to play their favourite songs in their very own

band with a choice of drums, keyboards, electric guitar, bass guitar or vocals.

As well as learning new musical skills, lessons also boost children’s confidence, wellbeing, social skills

and teamwork. Lessons take place every week during school time.

These fun and inclusive lessons are taught by highly trained, professional musicians who know how

to inspire a life-long love of music.

At the end of each term each band will perform in a concert for the school and their families, so you can see how far they have come! A musical workshop has already taken place in school, where the children tried out the instruments and saw what it is like to learn to play in a band.

Here’s what you need to know:

- All instruments are provided

- No musical experience necessary

- Suitable for all ages

- Most lessons take place during school time

- Your child will learn up to 300 instrument, band, and performance skills

- You’ll receive regular online updates via the Rocksteady Parent Timeline

- There’s a money back guarantee for the first month

- You can cancel at any time.

You can sign up for lessons online at bit.ly/parent-sign-up

If you have any questions about Rocksteady band lessons, you can call 0330 113 0330 (local rate,

office hours are Mon – Thurs 8am – 8pm, Fridays 8am – 6pm).
