Students are introduced to the basic technology of electronic printing and computer graphics while learning industry-standard Photoshop and InDesign software. Through the use of TLA's (technology learning activities), the students will learn problem solving and graphic design techniques. They will utilize materials and methodologies found in electronic and desktop publishing. The equipment available for student use includes a network of the newest and fastest macintosh computers, and by the end of the class, students will be able to demonstrate, through multiple forms of assessment, how the field of graphic design and desktop publishing functions. They will be able to determine if this is a career path they might be of interest to them in the future. Students will be able to manipulate desktop publishing software to convey concepts graphically through the completion of a variety of technology learning activities.
