Summer Assignment
AP World Language classes are for highly-motivated students who want to challenge themselves with college-level expectations during the high school. Learning a language happens when students engage in reading, writing, speaking and listening in the target language. Interacting with meaningful and purposeful activities during the summer months will help students advance your linguistic and cultural understanding. Assignments will be due during the school year.
ALL ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE TARGET LANGUAGE
Components:
1. Create an account in AP College Board
2. Read the AP World Language and Culture exam description
3. Access the Summer AP World Language Site and prepare:
A. Interpersonal task: Select an email prompt and write a response
B. Presentational Speaking: Cultural Comparison
C. Interpretive Reading: Literary Analysis
D. Interpretive Listening: Audio Analysis
Save all submissions until September for submission when you have received your schedule/teacher
4. Language/Grammar Review: MANDATORY
It CANNOT be stressed how important the Language component will be for next year. You should have already learned and mastered these skills BEFORE you enter the AP Language class
