#2 - This is the second video for Worry Warriors. Even if your student is not talking about his/her fears, they are experiencing them. Fears and worries are expressed very differently in children versus adults.
Tips to help decrease your child's worry during this time:
Turn off the news
Help them find healthy coping skills (breathing, go for a walk, listen to music, color or draw, etc.) and do these activities with them when you can
Hug them/sit with them as much as possible
Find ways to laugh together

#3 - Explore the different physical signs of worry and practice skills to help reduce the feeling of anxiety. Remember there is nothing ever wrong with having any sort of feeling. Naming our feeling and talking about what is causing the feeling helps take away the power of the feeling, putting us back in control.
#4 - Sometimes we worry about things we cannot control (actually lots of times). This helps explore what we can and cannot control in our lives. You will practice skills to help calm the worry especially when they are things beyond our control.
#5 - What does it feel like when our thoughts and bodies respond to worry? It is a great first step to be able to recognize the clues our bodies give us when worry creeps in. That way, we can be prepared with a healthy and calming response to help put our thinking brain back in control.
Do this activity at home. Click on the link and make a copy. Have a conversation about what is in your control and what things are out of your control (ex. the weather is definitely something out of anyone's control but what you wear outside is definitely in your control). Click on the bubbles on the Worry Warriors spear and type in things that are in your control. Click on the bubbles outside of the spear and type in things you can control. Please feel free to share your worksheet with me!!

#6 - What is the connection between our thoughts, feelings and actions especially when dealing with our worries? This episode introduces self-monitoring or paying attention to the thoughts we have and how they make us feel.
Take a moment to do the activity recommended on the video...all you need is paper and a pencil! Enjoy
#7 - In this video we explore how to check our thoughts. With worry, we fear what might happen and through our thoughts and experiences we work to figure out if something we fear may happen or not. Click the link below to help your child explore his/her worries by using the Worry Warriors Check Your Thoughts process!
