The Eastwood Educational Foundation was founded in 1986 to support the Eastwood Local School District. Formally, EEF's purpose is “To be operated exclusively for charitable, scientific, educational, and literary purposes for promoting excellence in the Eastwood School District.”
The foundation was established by nine original trustees, including:
Robert Bruning, Nigel Davies, James Keiser, Joseph Hirzel, Rolland Huss, Marion Layman, Lester Poggemeyer, Karol Poth, and John Schulte
Over time, the foundation expanded.
Manage dozens of scholarship funds
Many volunteers have donated their time and energy supporting, not just EEF, but the entire Eastwood Community!
As of recent years:
The foundation oversees 50+ scholarship funds and mini-grants
The investment portfolio has grown above $1 million
Annual scholarship distributions now reach tens of thousands of dollars per year
Over ~40 years, total scholarships awarded have reached approximately $900,000
Another way to do a 1-time gift. You can put comments in your donation as to what you want to dedicate the funds for, or if it's easier to just email a trustee after the donation, we will be sure to grant your wish. Our contact information is on the Trustees page.
