The following are great things to consider when applying for any scholarship:
In which clubs, sports, societies, programs, etc. did you participate? In which grade levels? Did you fulfill any leadership positions in these activities?
Did you participate in non-school clubs, organizations, or programs? Did you fulfill any leadership positions in those activities?
Did you act as a volunteer outside of school-related volunteer opportunities?
Where were you employed?
Who could you rely on to provide a letter of reference (character, academic achievement, participation, goals/aspirations) in a timely manner? Letters of reference greatly help scholarship committee members get to know you!
Read the biography included in your scholarship packet and speak with your presenter during the reception. Learn a little more about the person for whom your scholarship is named!
Write a proper letter or note of thanks to the family who endowed your scholarship(s) and mail it.
Follow the directions in your scholarship packet regarding accessing your monies.
