Middle School Speech and Language Services:

• In the middle school setting, speech and language sessions are provided on a rotating schedule. This is done to help reduce missing too much time from any class. You will miss a different class each week of the month and will receive a Speech and Language Smartpass notification the morning of your session indicating what time period you are to report to speech. My schedule is also posted in our Schoology course "Communication Success Lab" and I will message you the night before your session on Schoology as a reminder. Out of consideration of classroom instruction and all student learning, it is the expectation that students report to my room without being called. Eyer Teachers are well aware of the protocol. If any student feels they cannot miss the class they are expected to attend speech and language during, they may come see me during homeroom or message me on Schoology to arrange a different time. I will do everything within reason to reschedule your session with a similar grouping as best as possible. 

Please check our Schoology page often for updates and the schedule folder. I will be running our sessions on a SPEECH CYCLE day (corresponds to the Elementary Cycle Days). Each week I will rotate what period you are pulled from and the day of the week may change. It is YOUR responsibility to check the schedule and to come to speech without being called. There are THREE ways to know when you have speech: 

On Sunday Night:
1. Check the schedule folder for that week

In Homeroom: 

2. Check your smartpasses. Do you have one from me? That will tell you what period I need you that day!

3. Check your Schoology Messages (looks like an envelope in the top right corner). I will message that day's students the period you have speech. 

Please message as soon as you know if that period does not work for you because of a:

1) Test

2) Quiz (come after your quiz!)

3) Project you can't make up another time
