Welcome to Eyer Speech! I am so excited to continue your journey with you through speech and language. It is my endeavor to help you meet your personal speech and language goals as quickly as possible so that you may experience great success in your school career.

About Me:
My name is Ms. Slivka. I have been a Speech Language Pathologist with the East Penn School District since August 2011. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology in May 2010 and received my Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA and my Pennsylvania State License to practice Speech Language Pathology in July 2011. I received my Assistive Technology Certification through Bowling Green State University in June 2018. My passion is integrating curriculum, technology, and fun into every speech and language session. I encourage student feedback on what they feel they need to improve on and parent communication!
Middle School Speech and Language Services:
In the middle school setting, speech and language sessions are provided on a rotating schedule. This is done to help reduce missing too much time from any class. You will miss a different class each week of the month. Eyer uses Smartpass which are created by Sunday evening each week. Students can check their calendar view to see when they have their speech session that week. Out of consideration of classroom instruction and all student learning, it is the expectation that students report to my room without being called. Simply check in with your regular class by saying "I have Ms. Slivka" and report to my room (626). Eyer Teachers are well aware of the protocol. If any student feels they cannot miss the class they are expected to attend speech and language during, they may come see me during homeroom or message me on Schoology to arrange a different time. I will do everything within reason to reschedule your session with a similar grouping as best as possible.
Reasons you might need to reschedule your speech session:
1) Test
2) Quiz (come after your quiz!)
3) Project you can't make up another time
I realize that sometimes you rspeech session may occur during a class you really like. Remember, you are only missing that class one time per month!
