Class Overview

Reading Seminar is an intervention-based class. For the 2022-2023 school year, I am teaching one section of "traditional" reading seminar and then five sections of a word-based intervention called Sonday. In the traditional reading seminar class, which is my first period class, we are working on developing our reading skills as well as study skills and executive functioning skills. For periods 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8: we are working on a multi-sensory approach to reading.

Supplies for Reading Seminar

Bring your charged chromebook and a pencil with you every day. I will provide all other supplies.

About Me

I have been teaching for long time. At Eyer, I have taught 7th grade ELA, some 6th grade ELA, and Reading Seminar. I love teaching Reading Seminar because I love working with small groups and with students one-on-one to make words make sense.

Where to Find Me

I'm in room 521, which is on the second floor right above the 6th grade hallway.

If you are a 6th grader, you will go up the stairs near Mr. Mauro's room. When you get to the top, walk straight down the hallway and you'll find me four classrooms down on the right.

If you're a 7th grader, you will come out of the pods through the math rooms, walk past the stairs to lunch, and round the corner toward the communications teachers. I'm the third classroom on your left, across the hall from Mr. Spadt.

If you're an 8th grader, you probably know me and know where my room is! But if not, exit the pods, and head toward the health rooms. Keep walking to the end of the health hallway and take a left. You're now in my hallway. Walk straight down the hallway and you'll find me four classrooms down on the right.
