Hi! My name is Mrs. DeLong, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Willow Lane team! I have taught at East Penn since 2006 and love teaching more and more each year.
I went to college in Maine for Environmental Studies but found that I liked TEACHING about these issues the most. I gravitated toward programs that allowed me to work with children. I taught about watershed issues, forestry, and ecology. Eventually, I ended up back in Pennsylvania and earned an Education Degree from Kutztown University. I went on to get a Master's Degree in Educational Development and Instructional Strategies from Wilkes University. I also earned a 12-credit STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) certification through DeSales University.
During my time with East Penn, I have taught kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade. Additionally, I spent one year serving as a Reading and Math Interventionist. I love teaching Reading and Math with hands-on approaches. I also love tying Science and Social Studies into what we are learning throughout the year.
Mr. DeLong and I have two boys, Forest and Hunter. They are 15 and 13. We also have a wonderful 2 year old Golden Retreiver named Dax.
