Hi! It is nice to meet you. My name is Susie Racek and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher this school year. I am so excited to learn and grow with your child this school year. Please keep reading to find out more information about me.
I am a graduate of Millersville University with a dual certification in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I earned my first Master's Degree at Lehigh University in Teaching and Learning with a focus in technology. I have an additional Master's of Education degree, with a focus in reading from Kutztown University. This helped me to gain my reading specialist certification. From a young age I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My mom taught at Lincoln for several years, and I even attended Lincoln Elementary School! Being a teacher at Lincoln is very special to me.
The 2024-2025 school year will be my 10th year teaching. I started my teaching journey at Eastern Lebanon County School District as a kindergarten, first grade, and second grade learning support teacher. From there, I moved to North Carolina where I became a first grade teacher. The following year, I returned home to become a first grade teacher within Allentown School District. After teaching for a year in Allentown, I relocated to Japan for two years. During that time, I taught kindergarten at an international school. I am very excited to be back home and teaching at Lincoln!
I am a very active person...fueled by coffee! I love to be outdoors and participate in many outdoor activities. I am an avid runner, and I have run is 5k races, 10k races, half marathons, and marathons. My favorite place to run is Disney World. It is a truly magical feeling getting to dress up as a character and run through Cinderella's castle. I also enjoying hiking, and I recently learned how to ski during my time in Japan. I also love listening to music and going to concerts. Curling up with a warm cup of coffee and a good book is also something I like to do. Most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my puppy Penny!
I am very excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher this school year. I strive to to create a nurturing environment where students feel safe, comfortable, and confident. I am eager to work together, as a team to provide the best educational experience for your child. Let's have a fantastic school year where everyone truly blossoms!
