My career in education began at Whitehall-Coplay High School, where I took on the roles of both an Alternative Education and Health teacher. This experience allowed me to work closely with students who required a different approach to learning, fostering a supportive environment tailored to their unique needs. My passion for teaching was ignited here, as I witnessed firsthand the profound impact education could have on students' lives.
Since 2003, I have been privileged to serve as a Health/Wellness/Fitness teacher at Lower Macungie Middle School. This role has allowed me to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle to students, encouraging them to make informed choices about their physical and mental well-being. Our EPSD curriculum engages and empowers students with the knowledge and skills they need to lead healthy, active lives.
Alongside my teaching career, I have been deeply involved in coaching field hockey at various levels. Starting with the Whitehall-Coplay Varsity Field Hockey team, I had the opportunity to mentor young athletes and watch them grow both on and off the field. My coaching journey also extended to The Swain School and LMYA, where I continued to share my love for the sport and help develop the skills and teamwork of aspiring players.
Beyond my teaching duties, I am actively involved in Lower Macungie Middle School’s Success Team and Angel Network. These initiatives are close to my heart, as they provide vital support and resources to students and families in need. Working with dedicated colleagues, I strive to create a nurturing environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed and feel valued. Being part of these programs has enriched my teaching experience and reinforced my commitment to making a positive difference in the community.
