Mrs. Rolek is a committed 5th-grade co-teacher and Learning Support teacher at Jefferson Elementary School. She is a patient, empathetic, and adaptable teacher, dedicated to meeting the unique needs of each of her students. With strong communication skills and a creative approach to problem-solving, she uses individualized learning strategies to help her students thrive. Above all, Mrs. Rolek fosters a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.
A proud graduate of East Stroudsburg University, Mrs. Rolek holds a dual major in Regular Education and Special Education, which equips her with the skills and knowledge to support a diverse range of learners.
When she’s not in the classroom, Mrs. Rolek enjoys spending time with her family. You’ll often find her shopping at Target, grabbing a coffee from Dunkin', or enjoying the great outdoors with her husband and son, whether it’s walking, playing at the park, or just exploring nature together. She’s also a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, which makes for some fun rivalry moments at home, since her husband is a Dallas Cowboys fan! These moments of relaxation and friendly competition help her recharge and bring her best self to her students each day.
5th grade at Jefferson Elementary School is co-taught, and I have the great privilege of working alongside two incredibly talented educators, Ms. Kellie Bednarski and Ms. Amanda Slavin. Together, we collaborate to create engaging, inclusive, and effective learning experiences for all of our students.
Throughout the school year, students will explore a variety of literature and informational texts while practicing key comprehension strategies, such as identifying main ideas, summarizing, and making inferences. In writing, they will develop narrative stories, as well as informational and opinion texts, honing their ability to express ideas clearly and effectively.
Throughout the school year, students will build on their math skills in a variety of areas. They will explore place value, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, as well as how to compute with decimals and fractions. Students will continue working with fractions, learn to write and solve numerical expressions, identify and create number patterns, convert measurement units, and create graphs. Later in the year, they will focus on finding volume, locating and plotting points on a coordinate plane, and studying the properties of angles and 2D figures.
You can always contact me through your child's homeroom teacher's Seesaw, but the best way to reach me directly is via email. I’m ALWAYS just an email away if you have any questions, concerns, comments, or even a fun story to share about an experience your child had outside of school!
Check out our Family Tech Resources Website! The purpose of this site is to provide both students and families of the East Penn School District resources on the technology they are using in the classroom. Some of the resources are created by East Penn, while others may be created by the companies themselves.
