Lower Macungie Middle School
Mary Prudente is an eighth-grade learning support teacher at Lower Macungie Middle School, where she brings different learning styles to the classroom. Mrs. Prudente graduated from Marywood University with a dual major in elementary and special education. She went on to pursue her master's degree from Wilkes University in Instructional Media. Over the course of her 16 year career, she has taught and co-taught the following: General Science, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, American History, Social Studies, Algebra I, Health, English 9, Read 180, remedial math and remedial science. Currently, she teaches Math Standards and Reading Seminar. She also co-teaches ELA and Math Course 3 for the All Stars!
Outside the classroom, Mrs. Prudente enjoys coaching sports, watching sports, and playing anything competitively. She highly enjoys board games and video games. She has been trying to beat The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild for about two years now.
When she's not teaching or coaching, Mrs. Prudente enjoys spending time with her family, watching her sons in their interests (music, soccer, basketball, baseball), reading a book, and being outside in the sunshine.
Currently, I teach Math Standards, Co-teach ELA, Co-teach Math Course 3, and Reading Seminar.
The Moving with Math: Foundations intervention program is a comprehensive approach designed to help students build essential math skills. It uses hands-on activities, visual aids, and engaging lessons to make learning math fun and accessible for all learners. The program focuses on reinforcing foundational concepts, addressing individual learning needs, and fostering confidence in mathematics. By combining research-based strategies with interactive tools, it ensures students develop a strong understanding of math while staying motivated and excited to learn.
Our Reading Seminar class supports students’ academic success in literacy through research-based interventions. In Reading Seminar, students grow their stamina, fluency, and comprehension in guided reading groups, word study, and/or a combination of other interventions. Interventions are determined after careful assessment and analysis by the support team.
Please encourage your child to read at home for at least 15 - 20 minutes daily. Research has shown that it makes a significant difference.
Please check your core teacher's websites and syllabi to check the supply list.
You can always email me with questions, but the best way to see what we're doing in class and if your child has assignments coming up is by getting connected on Powerschool. Ask your child today to see their grades!
Check out our Family Tech Resources Website! The purpose of this site is to provide both students and families of the East Penn School District resources on the technology they are using in the classroom. Some of the resources are created by East Penn, while others may be created by the companies themselves.
