For over 20 years, I have been an integral Alburtis Elementary School family member. I served on the inaugural AES Culture and Climate Committee in 2003 before the current Alburtis facility was built. As a committee member, I advocated for a thriving, collaborative, student-centered school community dedicated to the health and emotional well-being of our current and future students, faculty, and staff. In 2015, when "Culture and Climate" transformed into "School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support" (SWPBIS), I served on the committee establishing the foundation for today's SWPBIS program.
Throughout my career, I have pursued opportunities to be involved in several programs, initiatives, and pilot programs. In 2002, as an East Penn Teacher Exchange Program representative, I hosted a British primary school educator and headmaster in my home and classroom. In 2003, the same British educator reciprocated the experience for me in England, providing American and British students with a new awareness of and appreciation for international similarities and differences in educational experiences.
Over the years, I have participated in various curricular committees and trained colleagues to prepare them for curricular and assessment changes. I was also a founding member of the 2019/2020 Co-Teaching Pilot Program.
I received the East Penn Pride Award in 2022 for my dedication to the Alburtis Bald Eagles Shave for the Brave Team. Our Alburtis Bald Eagles have raised over $71,000 for Pediatric Cancer Research in the three years we have participated in the event!
I completed my Master of Arts in Education at Gratz College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Elementary Education from Cedar Crest College. I have also earned many Post-Graduate credits in various Elementary Education topics.
