About Me
Dedicated to Student Learning and Creativity
As an English educator trained through Moravian College’s (now University) teacher preparation program, I have had incredibly enriching experiences that have all contributed to my understanding of myself as a teacher, to my dedication to students, and to my desire to see everyone create. As a student at Moravian, I formed lasting bonds with and learned so much from my professors and classmates, receiving rigorous instruction, collaborating on, and excelling in everything from educational law to childhood development, from Chaucer and medieval British literature to modern drama. My time at Moravian was also characterized by creative work. After a successful creative writing course in the Fall of 2018, I developed a love for poetry that continues today both inside and outside the classroom–a love for poetry that I credit as the foundation for my teaching philosophy. I have been so fortunate and grateful to have had various poems featured in Moravian’s literary and art magazine, The Manuscript, during my time as an undergraduate. These initial publication experiences led to other creative opportunities throughout Bethlehem, including having one of my poems showcased in the Fall 2020 issue of Sustainable Lehigh Valley and seeing one of my poems published online as the first-place winner of the Bethlehem Area Public Library’s “Imagine Your Story” contest during the Summer of 2020. I graduated summa cum laude from Moravian College in May 2021 and took with me knowledge, skills, hobbies, relationships, and experiences that have prepared me for a rich, rewarding, and dynamic life and career as an English educator.
When I am not poring over education and academics, I am usually reading and writing poetry, playing video games, listening to Radiohead, adding to my LEGO Star Wars collection, watching so-bad-they’re-good movies with my friends, or just spending time with my parents and younger brother. I currently live in Macungie, PA.
