Lower Macungie Middle School
Melanie Olivieri is a dedicated seventh-grade math teacher at Lower Macungie Middle School, where she makes learning math more fun with engaging lessons that spark curiosity and a love of learning in her students. A proud graduate of Desales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, Miss. Olivieri combines her passion for education with a commitment to helping young minds understand the world and their place in it.
Outside the classroom, Miss. Olivieri shares her leadership skills as the co-head coach for the LMMS field hockey team, fostering teamwork and resilience on and off the field.
When she's not teaching or coaching, Miss. Olivieri enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her puppy Emmie, reading, hiking, and playing field hockey!
In Math Course 2, students will learn about unit rates, percents, tax, multi-step equations, mixed operations with positive and negative numbers, and geometry with new 3D figures such as cubes and spheres!
In Algebra 1 Honors, students will learn about inequalities, systems of equations, functions, domain & range, polynomials, real number systems, probability and statistics! At the end of the class, all students will take the Keystone exam.
You don't need all of these supplies. We will have some available in the classroom for all students to use.
A pack of pencils
A fully charged chromebook
Chromebook charger
A folder or binder to keep your papers/handouts organized
Math workbook (MC2) or notes packets (ALG 1 Honors)
Headphones
Calculator (I have a class set)
You can always email me with questions, but the best way to see what we're doing in class and if your child has assignments coming up is by getting connected on schoology!
This is my primary means of showing students what is coming up, what is due, and where everyone can find all assignments!
Check out our Family Tech Resources Website! The purpose of this site is to provide both students and families of the East Penn School District resources on the technology they are using in the classroom. Some of the resources are created by East Penn, while others may be created by the companies themselves.
