Adriane Ulicny
Kindergarten Teacher
Alburtis Elementary School
My husband and I have been married for 14 years and we have two children - Abigail (12) and Arielle (10). We live in Macungie. Abigail is currently in 6th grade and attends Lower Macungie Middle School. Arielle is currently in 4th grade and attends Alburtis Elementary School with me!
I graduated from Parkland High School in 2002 and then completed my BSE in Elementary Education and Special Education from Kutztown University with honors. During my time at Kutztown University, I was Vice President of the Council for Exceptional Children and served in the Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity.
After graduating from Kutztown University, I was hired in the East Stroudsburg Area School District as an Elementary Learning Support Teacher. I worked there for two years before landing my teaching job in the East Penn School District. My time in the East Stroudsburg Area School District provided me with valuable teaching experience. I spent my first year in the East Penn School District teaching 6th grade Learning Support at Lower Macungie Middle School. I realized quickly that I prefer the elementary level. After one year teaching 6th grade Learning Support, I transferred to Shoemaker Elementary School and taught Kindergarten-3rd grade Learning Support for 10 years. I was then asked to teach Kindergarten-5th grade Learning Support at Alburtis Elementary School. I spent four years teaching Learning Support. I then transferred into Kindergarten. I have been teaching Kindergarten for three years! I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten! My students make me smile each day and the progress they make is extremely rewarding.
While teaching full time, I obtained my Master's degree from Lehigh University in Instructional Technology with honors. I am currently working on my second Master's Degree from York College in Educational Leadership with a Principal Certification.
The spare time I do have is spent at my cabin at Lake Wallenpaupack, exercising, reading books, and spending time with my family and friends. I can't forget to mention I love spending time with my two bichon-poodles, Charlie and Murphy!
Check out our Family Tech Resources Website! The purpose of this site is to provide both students and families of the East Penn School District resources on the technology they are using in the classroom. Some of the resources are created by East Penn, while others may be created by the companies themselves.
