The gifted program includes enriching activities in the areas of language arts, mathematics, problem solving, creative thinking, high level thinking skills, technology, content areas, etc… Once a student is designated as “gifted” they receive a Gifted Individualized Education Plan (GIEP). The GIEP contains goals for that student based upon their areas of greatest strength. In grades 1-5 the students are pulled-out into the gifted room on average of 2 times per week. During these gifted sessions the students read appropriate level literature and work on enrichment projects based upon their grade level’s curriculum.
