Macungie Elementary School
Hello! My name is Jade Swavely. I am a third grade teacher at Macungie Elementary School. I am a proud graduate of Penn State University! I obtained my Master's Degree in Instructional Media from Wilkes University in May 2024. This is my third year teaching third grade. I previously taught Kindergarten for three years.
Outside the classroom, I love working out, spending time with my family, and playing sports like pickleball and tennis. A few of my favorite things are Starbucks iced coffee, the color pink, and Target!
I am so excited to be your child's teacher! This will be such a fun year of learning and growing together!
Fundations in third grade reinforces phonics, spelling, and handwriting skills through engaging, multi-sensory activities. Students build confidence as they master complex word structures, improve fluency, and strengthen comprehension. This research-based program lays a strong foundation for success in reading and writing, fostering growth as readers, writers, and thinkers.
In third grade, i-Ready is an engaging and personalized learning platform that helps students strengthen their skills in reading and math. Through fun, interactive lessons tailored to each student's needs, i-Ready supports academic growth and builds confidence. By completing weekly lessons, students progress at their own pace while reinforcing the concepts we are learning in the classroom.
In third grade, Lexia is a powerful tool that supports students in building foundational literacy skills tailored to their individual needs. Through engaging activities and lessons, students strengthen their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency at their own pace. By incorporating Lexia into our classroom routine, we provide targeted practice and intervention to help each student thrive.
You can always email me with questions, but the best way to see what we're doing in class and if your child has assignments coming up is by getting connected on the following two programs!
This is my primary means of communication. I will send out weekly updates on Seesaw.
Students will receive digital assignments and assessments in Google Classroom.
Check out our Family Tech Resources Website! The purpose of this site is to provide both students and families of the East Penn School District resources on the technology they are using in the classroom. Some of the resources are created by East Penn, while others may be created by the companies themselves.
