The profile of a graduate defines what we believe is most critical for our students to know, and be able to do, by the time they graduate from the Easton Area School District. The profile of a graduate is locally developed but globally positioned. A well-articulated profile will help support our district’s strategic priorities and shape decision-making for the learning experiences across our schools.
The EASD Profile of a Graduate Steering Committee was formed in March of 2022. The steering committee consists of 28 members that represent teachers, students, parents, community members, and administrators. The committee has met five times between April and September to establish the committee's mission and goals, and to develop an action plan to create the EASD Profile of a Graduate. On September 27th and October 6th the committee hosted two Community Workshops. To learn more, click here.
The EASD Profile of a Graduate Steering Committee will:
Design a one-page graphic highlighting the graduate profile that focuses on 5-7 key areas
Develop a process to identify the key skills, competencies, and characteristics of an EASD graduate
Develop opportunities for all stakeholders inside and outside the organization to participate in identifying these skills, competencies, and characteristics for our EASD graduates
Develop performance outcomes for grades 5, 8, and 12 that align with the skills, competencies, and characteristics of the EASD Profile of a Graduate
Create meaningful assessments that allow students to highlight their mastery of the performance outcomes
Create opportunities for staff and students to review and provide feedback on the performance outcomes and assessments
Create learning plans that emphasize both exposure and mastery of the Profile of Graduate skills, competencies, and characteristics
Align the Profile of a Graduate with our K-12 curriculum framework
Develop communication strategies to ensure all stakeholders are aware of the process and opportunities to engage
Create opportunities for teacher, student, and community feedback on the Profile of Graduate
