Back to School Guidance
Please contact the school nurse if your child:
Has a contagious illness such as:, strep throat, the flu, or COVID-19 (see COVID tab), conjunctivitis.
Has had a fever >100.4 within the past 24 hours. Your child must be fever free for 24 hours, without any fever reducing medicines (Tylenol-Ibuprofen) before returning to school.
Has vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours. (Must be able to keep food down for a full 24 hours before returning to school.) If the nurse sends a student home for vomiting at school, we expect that student to stay at home the following day.
Has head lice.
Has received a new medical diagnosis.
Has been hospitalized.
Has started on a new medication.
Has an allergy to food or medication, or has developed a new allergy.
Has incurred a recent injury that requires accommodations for gym, transportation, etc.
Has no health insurance and you need help with obtaining health insurance.
If your child is absent, please call the school in the morning.
If your child is absent for five (5) consecutive days, a physician’s note is required upon returning to school.
