Welcome to the theatre and yearbook departments. I have had the honor and pleasure of teaching at Eastland High School for many years. My education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Tarleton State University in theatre and speech, a Masters of Arts Teaching in English from Tarleton, and a journalism certification. I also keep up to date with theatre topics through my membership in the Texas Educational Theatre Association and attendance at conferences and workshops.
Most of all, I am glad to serve the students in Eastland. At E.H.S. we are proud to have many options for students in the theatre department including curricular, Theatre Production and Technical Theatre classses, as well as extracurricular activities. Students participate in a fall production every year and have been successful in one-act play, advancing last year through four levels of competition to Area. We additonally have a proud tradition of being competitive in UIL Theatrical Design receiving state championships in Makeup Design and Marketing along with other state medals in Group Design and Costume Design.
In the yearbook department, we have a student produced book. High school and middle school staffs produci a K- 12 book from scratch using journalistic style and designing their own cover. Eastland has been honored, not only with many honorable mentions but also appearances, in Balfour's prestigious YEARBOOK YEARBOOK for photography and cover art,a distinction awarded to fewer than 5% of all Balfour's yearbooks in the US and overseas .
I am certainly proud of our Mavericks!
