CERT Basic Training!

ELCERT is pleased to announce we will now be offering the G-317 CERT basic training course in November of 2022. This class will be four days long, consisting of two weekends, both Saturdays and Sundays, 10 am to 4 pm.

Class size is limited to 20 trainees per class.

Space is limited so enroll NOW!

The first step to becoming a CERT is taking the G-317 basic training course. The CERT Program educates citizens about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Once this course is completed, you can start advanced training courses!

Advanced Training

Following a hurricane, ELCERT has been activated in the past to help first responders. Members that were physically able to assist East Lake Fire & Rescue helped evacuate residents from an assisted living facility and carried people to safety through flood water. We now have a boat and are trained on how to recover flood victims. This is safer for all involved. Check out our last water rescue training class.

Is this you?

Following a storm, some neighbors might jump into action and help others in the neighborhood. CERTs prepare our families and ensure they are taken care of, then assist our neighbors who might be less prepared or fortunate following a disaster.

CERT training gives you the skills and confidence that could save a life. CERTs are the stopgap when first responders are overwhelmed or delayed.

Know what to do in an emergency, large or small. Be part of the solution, not the problem. Learn to mitigate hazards, lessen property damage, and treat life-threatening injuries. The life you save could be your own or your loved ones.
